A Walking (or Cycling) School Bus is two or more families, traveling together for safety.

"The Walking School Bus is a great way to help reduce traffic congestion around our schools, making our communities safer for everyone."

You may be surprised to learn that 9 out of 10 parents who walk their children to school use it as an ideal way to meet new people, socialize at the school gate and get some daily exercise, concludes a study by the Department of Transport, Local Government and the Regions (DTLR) in the UK, in May 2002.
